The collection is powered by the sport: Polo. Current international trends find a unique presence in the collection but within the Indian context. The Saddle and polo paraphernalia represented through rich prints bind the collection to evoke a cascade of wearable choices for a demanding lifestyle in modern day. Jodhpur, best known for the quintessential outdoor life style further reinforces the mood of the collection. Polo now finally finds its due share of gracing the runways through a scintillating collection from Rathore Jodhpur.

 

The color and mood is reflective of the sport polo,beautifully combined with the rich, expressive luster of velvet, leather, and satin. The play of light and shade is reminiscent of an afternoon spent at the pavilions of a polo match, that evokes a classic yet understated elegance through a play of light and dark shade in the range of hues like ecru teal, caramel, ochre burgundy and olive tones. The unique mix of these shades adds to the sophistication of each outfit.

 

The rich embellishments and the classic yet emmaculate cuts enrich the overall feel of the collection, bringing back glamour to the runway. The choices of prints are classic polo motifs intelligently mixed into the concept of fashionable clothing.

  

Fabrics are mainly satin and silk fabrics that tie in as beautiful evening pieces to add to the versatility of the collection.

Fashion Week SPRING SUMMER 07-08

 

 

 

 

 

 

Spring 08 will be the year when we as a country will look within to find our own interpretation of comfortable dressing on the global fashion scene. Indigenous cuts, fascinating embroideries and intriguing crafts will make clothes from India, special.

 

"Contemporary styling of classic looks from the past” is the underlying theme of this Spring 08 collection by Rathore Jodhpur.  The attempt of this collection is to open our minds to the possibilities of the way we dress in our everyday life. Silhouettes that are comfortable but new and fresh have been induced across the range of the collection.

 

The collection has four capsules each expressing and providing a product need for a complete season.

 

 

 

Antique Jewels

In this capsule, old world prints are meticulously hand stitched, under layers of chiffon to look and feel the elegance of a world gone by.  Textured and dark-colored, the clothes from the “antique jewels” collection offer a solution for classic evening dressing. Mildly put, these ensembles are  an elegant expression of self ornamentation – chicly  bejeweled, bringing out a sensual  yet confident shy side of a woman.

 

 

Sammunder Moods

Inspired by the cool leisurely lifestyle of the easy-going coastal towns, this collection evokes a soft and natural energy.  The soft toned palette enhances the fluidity of the silhouettes as the colors melt  into each other redefining the “classic Indian look” of the long “Kurta”. The evolution of this classic and versatile design is taken through a design progression, by the way it is coupled with waistcoats, “dupatta” in pastel tones, this season.

 

The waistcoat has been reinvented to bring about freshness in silhouette. The traditional tunic has been restyled to create versatility in design bringing about a global wear ability factor. Accents of powdery shades in teal grey, mustard, icy blue silhouettes have been well coordinated with cropped tapered pants and oversized baggy shorts.

 

 

Narlai chattels

Prints inspired by the landscape of Narlai village near the Ranakpur temples, are presented in stunning cool and vibrant summer colors. Each design is conceived by keeping a balance between market trends and the true nature of fashion. Youthful and fun silhouettes drawing inspiration from the caftan genre are beautifully amalgamated with the Narlai inspired prints as sprinkles of glitter and gleam enhance each outfit as it is paired with stylish wide legged pants with a slouch that enhances the mood of the collection.

 

Flat sandals with distinct highlights have been designed specifically for this collection – throughout maintaining an element of comfort and ease – a common trait that has been reflected and seen as a principle of all design by Rathore this season.

 

 

 

Pushkar Festive

Color blocking and festive colors is the unique design sensibility of this collection.  The traditional Paisley has been reinvented to create rich motives in fantastic colors. The vibrancy and the artistry of the landscape of Rajasthan is the inspiration for this capsule. This collection through its design, cut and craftsmanship offers an insight into how Rathore Jodhpur is instrumental in capturing old cultural values and transporting them to a modern cosmopolitan wardrobe.
